Learning Outcomes 5 & 6
For citing my sources, I use both full citations and in-text citations in MLA format. At the end of my essay, I made sure to include a works cited page with all three of the sources cited in proper MLA format. I did find this difficult specifically in my chosen work since two of the essays were not published works, one didn’t have a title and I struggled to find where my base author’s work came from. In my essay my in-text citations are also in MLA format at the end of every quote I used, with the author’s last name and page number if applicable. However, none of the sources I used had page number for me to reference in my citations.

In my revisions I noticed that I used “and” at the beginning of my sentences a lot throughout my essay. I rectified this by deleting “and” from the beginning of all of the sentences and noticed that without “and” the sentence still made sense. Other errors I made an corrected were fixing my spelling from “Kelley” to “Kelly”, and adding in topic sentences to paragraphs, to properly transition from point to point.

Since MLA format was used throughout all of my high school years, I am fairly familiar with it and believe in my ability to properly format my essays. On the other hand, sentence level errors like grammar and spelling are something I struggle with. And in this chosen work I made sure that I would thoroughly read through every sentence in my head and out loud as to catch my mistakes that I may have missed. I feel that I have done better catching my typical errors in this work than my previous projects since I carefully went through my essay. My progress from the beginning of the semester to the end is very evident in my works.
